Hot Cocoa Smoothies
This is a cold and healthy smoothie that tastes like a mug of rich hot cocoa. We made this in my recent Petite Chefs class and it was a big hit. Some of the kids were a little nervous when we added the spinach but not a one complained as they were drinking them down. We still have arctic temperatures here in Wisconsin but sometimes you just need to crank the heat and make a smoothie!
Hot Cocoa Smoothies - 12 Months+
Ingredients:
3 Bananas, pealed and frozen for at least an hour
1/2 cup Spinach (fresh or frozen)
1 1/2 cups Almond Milk
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder (unsweetened)
3 Dates, pitted
1/8 tsp Chili Powder
1/8 tsp Nutmeg
Add all of the ingredients to a blender and whizz until blended and creamy. This may take a bit longer than you expect because of the dates but give it a few minutes and it will be perfect. Makes about 3-4 medium smoothies.
