Homemade Fruit Water

Lately, getting my five year old to drink enough water has been a bit of a challenge.  Water is so essential to our hydration and overall health I want to be sure she is getting enough every day.

Together we came up with this idea to make her water more fun.  Fruit ice cubes that turn water into...fruit water.  Unlike many commercial fruit flavored water they don't contain artificial colors and flavors.  Simple and delicious.  We don't add them to her water all the time but the times we have she hasn't had a problem drinking it up.

Homemade Fruit Water
Ingredients:
1 cup Strawberries, hulled
1/2 cup sliced Watermelon
1/4 cup Coconut Water (or filtered water)
Add all of the ingredients to a blender and purée until smooth and thin.  Pour into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 2 hours.  Pop a few of the frozen ice cubes into a glass of filtered water.  As the ice cubes melt the drink will get fruity.  Store cubes in the freezer in an airtight container.
