Deepak's Avocado Milkshakes
My husband created this recipe to emulate a treat he was fond of growing up in Southern Africa. His mom would make it by adding sugar, a lot of sugar according to him. He was quite happy with the results adding honey instead. This recipe creates a thick, creamy, rich milkshake that both our girls loved and couldn't get enough of. Plus it packs a nutritional punch, avocados are full of fiber, antioxidants and healthy fats! It's pretty fantastic having a husband who can get creative in the kitchen!
Deepak's Avocado Milkshakes - 12 Months+
Ingredients:
2 ripe Avocados
1 Banana, peeled
3 TBSP raw Honey
3 cups Milk (D uses 2% but I use almond or coconut milk for myself)
1 cup Ice
Cut open your avocados, remove seeds and scoop the green goodness into your blender. Add in the banana and honey and 1 cup of milk. Blend on a slow speed gradually adding the rest of the milk and ice, increasing the speed. Once you have reached the desired consistency it's ready to drink. You can also freeze it for some homemade ice milk you can eat with a spoon! This recipe makes about 3 milkshakes.
